Thank You Letter
'

Send a thank you letter after every interview.  Try to send the letter within 24 hours of the interview, a maximum of two days later.  Keep it brief – one page.

Personalize your letter.  When interviewing with several people at one company, after the interview session, take time to make notes about each person and each conversation.  Uuse these notes to write individualized thank you letters to each interviewer.  Each letter does not need to be completely different, but don’t send identical letters.  If you can’t do   individual letters, do one letter to the group.

Tips

·       Ask for your interviewers’ business card, or write down the interviewers’ titles and the proper spelling of their names before leaving the interview site.

·       Carefully proof each letter.  Have someone else proof your letter also.

·       Print each letter on high quality linen or bond paper; mail them in matching envelopes.

Guidelines

·  Thank the interviewer for the interview.  Briefly state the date, time and purpose of the interview.

. Restate your interest in the company and the position you  interviewed for.  Address a topic that arose during the  conversation, especially where that topic reflects favorably on your skills.  Refer to any other key items.

·  Re-emphasize a skill or strength important to the interviewer.  Describe any other characteristics or experience you may not have mentioned in the interview.

·  Offer the opportunity to be contacted for further information.  Inform the interviewer that you look forward to hearing from him/her soon.  Thank him/her again.
