Interview Preparation Checklist – Planning

leads to success

Are you knowledgeable about the organization?

·   Name/Title of Interviewer

·   Products/Services

·   Has it been in the news lately?  Why?

·   Is it profit or non-profit?  Publicly or privately held? Unionized?

Do you know precisely where to go for the interview?

Have you organized the materials you may need?

·   Copies of your resume

·   Dates, names, addresses, etc. concerning previous jobs,   education, etc.

·   Pen and paper for making notes after the interview

·   Change for parking and pay phones

·   Any information you may already have about the             organization and/or the position (to review while you wait)

·   Letters of reference or names, addresses, phone numbers, and e-mails of references

·   Portfolio of art work, writing samples, or any other visual examples of your work, if appropriate

Have you practiced answering typical interview questions and given particular thought to answering company specific questions?

Have you prepared questions you will ask?

Is your interview attire and grooming appropriate for the organization?
